Established in the year 1987 as one of the premier Science Parks by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India for entrepreneurship development and to undertake R & D activities in frontal areas for the industrial sector.

Funded by DST, Govt. of India Central Financial Institutions viz., Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI), Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Government of Uttar Pradesh and other agencies to provide necessary motivation, training and infrastructural support to young entrepreneurs for product development and establishment of new enterprises, and to helping in the establishment of new ventures, diversification of old units and revival of sick industries.
